Just a 1 1/2-hour drive north of Manila, Subic offers vista of the blue mountain and sea set against a green backdrop of a three layered virgin forest. It was orginally developed as a naval base by Spanish colonizers way back in 1885, Subic Bay became the largest US naval facility in the Far East.

Long considered as one of the best diving spots in the country, it lies just southwest of Duljo Point off Panglao Reef. As with Panglao Island, the waters are incredibly clear with visibility of over 100 feet (30 meters) and the beaches pristine. Coral cover is excellent and fish abundant. Surrounded by a sandy coraline beach, the island is fringed by a coral reef 9-49.5 m. wide.

Only 140 km south of Manila, Anilao's proximity makes it a popular destination for weekend diving trips. Even excursions are ideal in this southern town where resorts are situated within short boat rides to excellent dive sites. Diving is mainly in coral slopes and shallow gardens among sandy patches.

A little further from Anilao using Batangas Pier as jump-off point. Puerto Galera is a natural harbor with fine beaches, green scenery and sheltered coves. Puerto Galera has grown to become a diving haven due to its marine diversity, complemented by other acitivities.

Mactan Island, the diving mecca of the south is the most convenient and accessible dive location in Cebu. Mactan has plenty of beach resorts with complete diving facilities. Divesites along the edge of the island are very convenient for beginners and advanced divers alike.

Drive to the city's southwest coast to reach Moalboal, then take a ride to Panagsama's white beach which offers excellent opportunities for diving and snorkelling. Corals in shallow water are in form, making them execellent for snorlelling and underwater photography.

Not only has Boracay have one of the loveliest beaches in the world, a great variety of restaurants and beach resorts, all kinds of water and land sports, a laid-back island lifestyle typified by friendly and smiling local and tourists, hot steamy nights under the palm trees and open air discos, it also has some simply fabulous diving.

In the heart of the Sulu sea lies the Tubbataha Reef's National Marine Park, 98 nautical miles from Palawan's capital, the Puerto Princesa.

It is about 182 km south of Puerto Princesa, the capital province of Palawan is the main gateway to Sulu Sea. It has an approximate area of 33,200 hectares and is made up of the North and South Atolls that are separated by an 8 km channel. The reef, known as the South Atoll has a lighthouse and a so called and a so called Black Rock as its most prominent features.

More dive sites are located in the town of El Nido, Miniloc Island, Coron and Taytay Bays, Northern Palawan. These sites have de luxe resorts which offer recreational activities along with leisure diving and snorkelling.
